Kris Scott
Kris Scott is a passionate and visionary non-profit leader committed to dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline for youth in the Bay Area. With unwavering dedication, he amplifies the voices of young people, ensuring they are seen, heard, and valued. Through his tireless efforts as Managing Director at Fresh Lifelines for Youth, he helps youth recognize their potential, empowering them to envision a future beyond their past mistakes and to build lives rooted in purpose and possibility.
Kris began his journey in social change as a young adult, studying Justice Studies at San José State University. His education ignited a lifelong passion for giving back to his community and identifying the systemic gaps within the criminal justice system.
Kris has dedicated the past 15 years to youth development, driven by a deep passion for social justice and equity. Throughout his career, he has made a lasting impact at Fresh Lifelines for Youth (FLY), serving in a variety of roles from middle school case manager to Santa Clara County Director. He has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, compassion, and a commitment to empowering young people.
Kris serves as the Managing Director of Programs, where he oversees the training and development of county directors across the Bay Area. He ensures high-quality programming and active community engagement throughout the region.
Kris has served on the front lines with students in every role he has held, ensuring that not only young people are equipped for success, but also that probation officers, program leaders, and county directors are empowered to effectively support youth in our community. He works closely with community partners to help FLY youth access professional development and career pathways, while actively collaborating with city and state officials to advocate for meaningful policy change.
Kris graduated from San Jose State University with a Masters in Philosophy is 2022 and a BS in Justice Studies in 2011.
