Shirley Torres and Steve Delgado

Shirley Torres and Steve Delgado are co-chief executive officers of Homeboy Industries. Together, they lead one of the most impactful reentry and social justice organizations in the world. They provide hope, training, and support to individuals who were formerly gang-involved or previously incarcerated.

Torres joined Homeboy Industries shortly after college and has stayed with the organization for more than 20 years. Her journey reflects a lifelong dedication to justice, healing, and equity in Los Angeles. Delgado, who joined in 2019, brings a diverse professional background and is committed to kinship and transformation. Their distinct paths have strengthened their shared leadership, blending deep institutional knowledge with fresh perspective.

Their steadfast leadership and hands-on commitment to advancing Homeboy's mission through job training, mental health services, education, and reentry support made them the clear choice for company leadership in 2025.

Beyond their titles, Torres and Delgado are deeply connected to the people they serve. They walk alongside participants and foster what Homeboy calls radical kinship—a philosophy that centers human connection as the foundation for social change. Under their leadership, Homeboy Industries recently launched a fundraising campaign for the Fr. Gregory Boyle Center for Radical Kinship. This major expansion will extend the organization's reach and provide vital support to thousands more Angelenos each year.
