Punter Brian Moorman was released by the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday, .
The two-time All-Pro spent his entire 12-year career with the Bills. The Buffalo News' Tim Graham because Moorman struggled with directional punts.
The Bills re-signed rookie Shawn Powell to replace Moorman. Powell was considered one of the top punters in the country during his senior season at Florida State. The two competed during training camp after the Bills brought in Powell as an undrafted rookie.
Moorman's 32.7 net punt average ranks No. 31 in the NFL, but his release was a surprise, considering his history with the team (he was a seven-time team captain and two-time pick). Bills running back Fred Jackson tweeted: "WTF??? Released Mooreman??? For What??"
