Kevin Kolb made slight progress this week in his bid to return to the field from a turf to injury that's sidelined him the past two games, but the Arizona quarterback remains questionable for this against the San Francisco 49ers.
Kolb throughout the week in the first test of his injured foot since he got hurt in a Week 8 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Kolb said he moved "gingerly" during his Wednesday workout, but described his return to practice as "a big step forward."
NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora that it's unlikely Kolb will suit up against the Niners, meaning John Skelton will start his third straight game.
Skelton is 4-2 in his career as a starter and has won both of his starts this year, including a fourth-quarter comeback win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10.
Cardinals running back Beanie Wells (knee) and tight end Todd Heap (hamstring) also are questionable, while linebacker Joey Porter (knee) has been ruled out.
