Chargers agree to terms with C Tyler Biadasz on 3-year, $30 million contract

The Los Angeles Chargers' offensive line overhaul has already begun.

The Chargers agreed to terms with center Tyler Biadasz on a three-year, $30 million contract, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero reported on Friday, per sources informed of the situation.

Biadasz was released by the Washington Commanders earlier this offseason, allowing him to sign a new deal before the league year opens on Wednesday. The center met with the Chicago Bears and had more meetings on the docket, but decided to take a good deal in L.A. to join a team with a clear need.

The signing underscores the lucrative market for offensive linemen headed into free agency. Biadasz was slated to make $8.3 million in Washington in 2026. Instead, he gets a raise to fly across the country.

Offensive linemen are in high demand, particularly those with starting experience who have shown an ability to stay on the field.

Biadasz, a former Pro Bowler in Dallas, has started at least 15 games each of the past five seasons. He might not be a top-five pivot, but the 28-year-old is a proven grinder who is solid in both the run and pass game. Bradley Bozeman struggled last year at center for the Chargers and ultimately retired this offseason. Biadasz represents a clear upgrade at the position.

The Chargers have plenty more needs along the line, particularly at guard and a backup swing tackle, with both Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater coming off season-ending injuries. They're far from done addressing the line, but at least L.A. heads into free agency with one big question answered.
