We're less than one week from the 2008 .
It's one of the most important events on the NFL schedule, as teams attempt to find the next Peyton Manning, LaDainian Tomlinson or Joe Thomas and avoid the Ryan Leafs, Ki-Jana Carters and Tony Mandarichs of the world.
But what if general managers and head coaches made their first-round selections based on how it would affect ?
Sure, it's a little out of the norm (OK, it's a LOT out of the norm).
But it is called fantasy football!
Since it's impossible to determine a rookie's true value until after he's been drafted, I've put together a first-round mock that's based on a combination of team needs, best-case scenarios for short- and long-term value, and whether the addition of a player would increase the stock of an incumbent starter for the 2008 season.
