After a decade-long run, Ryan Kelly is calling it a career.
Kelly, a four-time Pro Bowl center, announced on social media Friday that he will retire from football after finishing his 10th NFL season.
"10 seasons. What an incredible ride it was," Kelly . "I was blessed to be around some of the greatest people this sport has to offer. I always wanted to leave each place better than how I found it and with that I can hang my hat. Forever grateful for my family and brothers! Cheers."
Kelly dealt with multiple concussions in 2025 with the Vikings, ending the year on injured reserve. He signed a two-year, $18 million deal last offseason with Minnesota after spending his first nine seasons with the Colts.
It was in Indianapolis where Kelly blossomed as a run-blocking center. He manned the middle of a strong offensive line that paved the way for Jonathan Taylor's NFL emergence. Taylor led the league in rushing in 2021 with 1,811 yards and quickly shot up the franchise's all-time record book with Kelly as his teammate, currently standing as the Colts' all-time rushing touchdown scorer (69) after just six seasons.
Kelly's presence played a major role in what had been a stable O-line throughout his Colts tenure, earning consecutive Pro Bowl trips from 2019-2021 and his fourth honor in 2023. Kelly arrived in Indianapolis as a first-round selection (No. 18 overall) in the 2016 draft out of the University of Alabama.
Michael Jurgens served as Kelly's replacement during the veteran's injury-laden final season in Minnesota. The Vikings could turn back to the seventh-round pick but might need to address the center position through free agency or the draft following Kelly's retirement.
