Lions suspend C.J. Mosley, send him home from London

The Detroit Lions announced Saturday from London that defensive tackle has been for conduct detrimental to the team and a violation of team rules.

No details were provided, but Mosley has been sent home ahead of at .

After placing Mosley on the team's reserve/suspended list, safety Jerome Couplin was signed from the practice squad to complete Detroit's 53-man roster.

Mosley, 31, has appeared in seven games in 2014 after playing in 16 last season with the Lions. His previous stops have included the Vikings, Jets, Browns and Jaguars, mostly as a rotational lineman.

His 183 snaps on the year ranked sixth on the team. With Mosley out of the mix against the Falcons, reserve tackle Caraun Reid will be leaned on for work behind behemoths Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley.
