NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that New England planned to release the longtime backup after being unable to find a trade partner. Dobbs, 31, made four appearances for New England in 2025, completing seven of 10 passes for 65 yards. Tommy DeVito is slated to be Drake Maye's backup QB in 2026.
