Niners, kicker Eddy Pineiro agree to terms on a four-year, $17 million contract

San Francisco 49ers kicker Eddy Pineiro is being rewarded for his 2025 season.

Pineiro agreed to terms with the Niners on a four-year, $17 million deal that includes $10 million guaranteed, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Saturday.

The veteran joined the 49ers after San Francisco waived kicker Jake Moody one game into the 2025 season. With Pineiro taking over the job in Week 2, he re-emerged as one of the league's best kickers and was a reliable part of a Kyle Shanahan-led team that weathered plenty of adversity toward yet another postseason appearance.

In 2025, the 30-year-old kicker made 28 out of 29 field goals (six of seven from 50-plus yards) and became the league leader by making 96.6% of his field goals. He also made 34 out of 38 extra points.

For his career, Pineiro has converted 89.7% of his field goals (139 of 155) and 91.5% of his extra points (150 of 164).

After one impressive season in the Bay Area, the 49ers see Pineiro as their kicker for the foreseeable future.
