The Washington Redskins' fourth-string quarterback played his first NFL game in three years in a over the Tennessee Titans. It likely would have been a Redskins loss if it wasn't for White, who signed with the team in April.
After Redskins coach Mike Shanahan did his part -- opting for a two-point conversion to prevent the tie -- White made the gamble look wise, connecting with tight end Emmanuel Ogbuehi for the game-winner.
White told reporters, per The Washington Post. "It's good to get on the field. It's been a while for me. To put that drive together with my teammates and put points on the board and get a victory, it's a great feeling."
White's comeback isn't a , but it's highly unusual in league circles. A 2009 second-round draft pick by the Miami Dolphins, White hasn't played a snap of NFL football since Jan. 3, 2010. He's , but he made a compelling case for himself Thursday night.
