A source very close to Eli Manning says the New York Giants quarterback is progressing well in his recovery from ankle surgery.
That source? Eli's big brother, Peyton.
"He feels good," on Sunday , according to the New York Daily News. "He was doing some light throwing the other day, obviously just kind of upper-body stuff."
The Giants begin organized team activities May 28 through 30 and will recur June 2 to 3, June 5, June 9 to 10 and June 12 to 13. The team will hold a mandatory minicamp June 17 through 19.
"He's disappointed he's got to miss some of the OTAs, but it's better than missing games during the season," Peyton said. "So it was the right thing to do."
Don't expect to see Eli back to work with teammates until training camp. That means more reps for second-year QB Ryan Nassib and newcomers Josh Freeman and Rusty Smith.
