Don't expect to see Chris Snee back in the lineup for the New York Giants any time soon.
The three-time All-Pro right guard is struggling with a torn labrum in his hip. He didn't play in the Giants' to the Kansas City Chiefs and reportedly might be facing surgery if the situation doesn't improve.
"This one has the pain, but he can't move," . "If they don't get the joint to move again, (surgery) is probably going to be the only option."
Snee played with a labrum tear in his opposite hip for four seasons before undergoing surgery in the offseason. Snee clearly was compromised by the injury during the season's first three games, as he allowed three sacks and 10 quarterback hurries. James Brewer started in Snee's place against the Chiefs.
"(There's) not a lot of improvement from the treatments," the source said. "It is not looking too good right now."
Snee, 31, pondered retirement in the offseason, so it's fair to wonder if another hip surgery would bring his decorated NFL career to a close. Snee was an underrated rock for two teams in New York. His loss would leave a sizable void.
