Rex Ryan's departure has become somewhat of a foregone conclusion in New York, but it's good to see the coach sticking to his gunslinger roots on the way out.
"I'm just going to be myself," he said, . "I'm not dead yet."
Veteran players like Calvin Pace said nothing would be better than sending Ryan off with a victory against the team he took to the brink more than any other. over Bill Belichick and the Patriots still stands as one of the best coaching performances of the past five years.
Looking back at that game in particular, it makes us wonder what Ryan would have done if the team continued to churn their roster and bring in some talent on offense. That game alone featured a talented Braylon Edwards, LaDainian Tomlinson, Santonio Holmes and Dustin Keller, all of whom were circling or just exiting the prime of their careers.
It's hard to think that just four years later, we'd be talking about Ryan's last game against Bill Belichick in green and white.
