The Washington Redskins have two weeks to decide whether to pick up the fifth-year option on 's rookie contract for the 2016 season.

In a wide-ranging sit-down interview with NFL Media's Jeff Darlington, Griffin said he "" if the Redskins decide against picking up his option by the May 3 deadline.
Griffin also told Darlington that he has been led to believe the Redskins will not select a quarterback with the fifth overall pick in next week's draft.
If Jameis Winston tumbles, that plan could be revisited. According to Darlington's sources, however, Marcus Mariota is not a likely target.
Per Griffin, McCloughan relayed, "I'm going to put the 10 best players around you to maximize your potential." McCloughan's philosophy, Griffin added, is to build an identity by being "tough in the trenches."
McCloughan followed through on that plan in free agency, bolstering the defensive line with Terrance Knighton, Ricky Jean Francois and Stephen Paea.
