After nine seasons in Tennessee, Michael Griffin was cut Tuesday, the Titans announced.
A first-round selection out of Texas in 2007, Griffin played 141 games in a Titans jersey. The free safety compiled 25 interceptions. He had one interception and three passes defensed in 15 games last season.
At 31 years old, the two-time er was a liability in the back end of the Titans' defense last season. Clearly losing a step, Griffin was one of the worst NFL safeties in 2015. (FWIW: Pro Football Focus rated him the 77th overall safety out of 88 and the 69th in coverage.)
