Stephen Jones: Cowboys haven't received calls about potential George Pickens trade

The Dallas Cowboys squatted on the rights to George Pickens, placing the franchise tag on the receiver in February. That hasn't stopped rumors from swirling about the club potentially trading the wideout.

According to Cowboys chief operation officer Stephen Jones, however, that chatter hasn't led to any inquiries from teams.

"You hate to get into things like that, but no, we've had no one call with interest in George Pickens," Jones said Tuesday on 105.3 The Fan, .

Not receiving any calls with interest and not being interested in trading him are two separate thoughts. Thus far, there have been no indications that the Cowboys are close to a multiyear extension with the wideout.

The franchise tag is set to pay Pickens $27.29 million in 2026. Owner Jerry Jones said during the Annual League Meeting in March that the club had long-term plans for the wide receiver.

Dallas' propensity to drag its feet on extensions could elongate the situation. A year ago, the contract talks with Micah Parsons unraveled, leading to the blockbuster trade to Green Bay. The Cowboys have until July 15 to work out an extension with Pickens or he'll play the season on a one-year deal.

The 2026 NFL Draft presents one opportunity for the Cowboys to flip Pickens for picks. However, they would first need to receive some interest. The wideout would also need to sign his franchise tender in order to be traded.
